DOTC gigisahin sa biniling P1.5B marine equipment

MANILA, Philippines - Pinaiimbestigahan sa Kongreso ang umano’y pagbili ng Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) ng P1.15 bilyong halaga ng kagamitan na hindi pa kailangan ng Coast Guard noong 2007. Sa inihaing House Resolution 1640, kinuwestyon ni Bayan Muna Rep. Teddy Casino kung bakit bumili ng bilyong halaga ng marine environmental equipment at lighthouse spare parts ang DOTC kahit na wala namang request ang PCG.

Ayon kay Casino binigyan ng DOTC na noon ay pinamumunuan ni Sec. Leandro Mendoza ng kontrata ang dalawang kompanya, ang Berlyn Enterprises­ at RH Lopez Trading. Hanggang ngayon ay nakatambak pa rin sa warehouse ng DOTC ang mga biniling gamit. Bina­yaran umano ang mga supplier noong Abril 28, 2010.
