PET pumayag na kopyahin ng Comelec ang CF cards na ginamit sa 2010 elections

MANILA, Philippines - Pinayagan ng Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) na kopyahin ang compact flash (CF) cards na ginamit sa automated May 10, 2010 elections para sa pag­resolba ng election protests.

Batay sa 2-pahinang resolusyon  na nilagdaan ni Supreme Court  Clerk Atty. Enriqueta Vidal, pinayagan ng mga mahistradong bumubuo ng  PET ang request na inihain ni Comelec Commissioner Rene Sarmiento, presiding commissioner ng Comelec First Division, hinggil sa pagnanais na makakopya ng CF cards sa gagawing ballot images, sakaling kailanganin sa recount ng balota sa iba pang election protests.

Nabatid na ang CF cards ay nasa pangangalaga ng PET bunga ng protesta sa pagka-bise presidente sa pagitan nina Vice President Jejomar Binay at Manuel Roxas.

Kabilang sa nakabinbin pang proetsta sa Comelec na saklaw ng kahilingan ni Comm. Sarmiento ang “Antionio Gatuslao vs. Agustin Bascon” (Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental; “Pancrasio Nisce vs. Hermenigildo Gualberto” (San Fernando City, La Union; “Jaime Fresnedi vs. Aldrin San Pedro”  (Muntinlupa City); “Marissa Rongavilla vs. Artemio Simundac” (Vice Mayoral, Muntinlupa City) at “Ferdinand Dysico vs. Jose Felimon” (San Jose City, Nueva Ecija).

Pinaalalahanan din ng PET ang Comelec na :“always indicate in similar requests in the future to state, not only the Election Protest Case Nos. and Case Titles, but also the areas subject of the protests.”
