Tax records ng AFP generals hahabulin ng BIR

MANILA, Philippines –  Hahabulin ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ang mga heneral ng Armed Forces of the Phi­lippines (AFP) na sangkot sa kontrobersyal na milyong pisong “pasalubong” at “pabaon”.

Ayon kay BIR Commissioner Kim Henares, na sa ilalim ng batas, da­­pat ideklara bilang income ang perang natanggap ng isang tao legal o illegal man ang nasabing halaga.

“You should report your income tax returns. The thing here is, for all types of income, whether legal or illegal, you should pay taxes,” ani Henares.

Dahil dito, lahat umano ng tumanggap ng tinatawag na pabaon o pasalubong sa AFP ay dapat magbayad ng income tax sa BIR.

Hiniling na ng BIR sa Senado ang  transcripts at annexes ng  hearing ng Blue Ribbon committee para sa isinasagawang pag­busisi ng ahensiya.

“If you compute the liabilities, within two years, their tax liabilities would have doubled. Within four years, they might have to give up everything they owned. So that’s the downside of not paying taxes. At the end of the day, nothing will be left,” pahayag pa ni Henares.
