Akusado sa Batasan bombing: Manhunt vs ex-Solon

MANILA, Philippines - Nagpalabas kahapon ng Hold Departure Order (HDO) ang Quezon City-Regional Trial Court laban kay dating House Deputy Speaker Gerry Salappudin dahil sa pagkakasangkot nito sa Batasan Complex bombing noong 2007 kung saan isang mambabatas ang nasawi.

Iniutos ni QC-RTC Judge Ralph Lee ng branch 83 ang pagpapalabas ng HDO laban kay Salappudin matapos mag-isyu ito ng warrant of arrest.

Hiniling ni Atty. Karl Arian Castillo, private prosecutor, sa pamamagitan ng urgent motion sa korte na magpalabas ng HDO laban sa dating mambabatas.

“Acting on the urgent motion for issuance of a hold department order dated August 16, 2010 filed by the private prosecutor, under the direction and control of the public prosecutor, for the reason that there is a possibility that the accused will abscond or flee from this jurisdiction or out of the country, said motion is hereby granted,” wika pa ni Judge Lee.

Sinabi pa ng hukom, sa sandaling maaresto ang dating kongresista ay isasailalim ito sa normal procedure kung saan ay iisyuhan ito ng commitment order upang mabilanggo sa QC Jail.

Hiniling naman ng QC police na ikulong si Sa­lappudin sa QC Jail annex sa Camp Bagong Diwa sa Bicutan, Taguig City dahil sa pagiging ‘high profile’ detainee nito.

Magugunita na noong November 12, 2007 naganap ang pagsabog sa Batasan complex kung saan ay nasawi si Basilan Rep. Wahab Akbar ga­yundin ang mga emple­yado ng Kamara na sina Jul-Asiri Hayundini, Maan Gale Bustalino, Dennis Manila, Vercia Garcia at Marcial Taldo.

Nasugatan naman sa insidente si Gabriela Partylist Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan at Rep. Pryde Henry Teves.

Samantala, iginiit naman ng abugado ni Salappudin na isang political harassment ang pagdadawit sa dating mambabatas sa kaso.
