Ex-SBMA officials kinasuhan

MANILA, Philippines - Nahaharap ngayon sa kasong graft at iba pang asunto sa Ombudsman ang dating opisyal ng Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) at mga kasama nito ga­ yundin ang joint venture partner nilang Harbour Centre Port Terminal, Inc. (HCPTI) dahil umano sa pagselyo sa deal na magmo-monopolize ng Subic ports.

Ayon sa ulat, kabilang ang pangalan nina dating SBMA Directors Atty. Ferdinand Hernandez at Ma. Angela S. Garcia sa mga sinampahan ng reklamo nitong Martes sa Ombudsman ng Subic cargo handling operator na Amerasia International Terminal Services Inc. (AITSI).

Nabatid na ang kaso ay nag-ugat sa pagsasab­watan umano ng mga nabanggit upang maka­lusot ang naturang deal na isang krimen sa ilalim ng Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act gayundin ng Article 186 ng Revised Penal Code sa monopolies and restraint of trade.
