Sa utos na buwagin ang PASG, Poder ni GMA sa EO pinahina

MANILA, Philippines - Pinahihina umano ni Manila Regional Trial Court Judge Silvino Pampilo ang kapangyarihan ni Pangu­long Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo nang ideklara ng una na labag sa Konstitusyon ang Executive Order 624 na ipinalabas ng huli na nagtatatag sa Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group dahil ginagaya nito ang trabaho ng Bureau of Customs.

Ito ang pasaring ka­hapon ni PASG Chief at Dangerous Drugs Board Chairman Secretary Antonio “Bebot” A. Villar Jr. na pumunang binalewala ni Pampilo ang Administrative Code na nagkakaloob sa Pangulo ng kapang­yarihang magpalabas ng executive order para ma­pa­buting lalo ang gawain ng mga tanggapang ehe­kutibo.

Nilinaw din ni Villar na hindi kinokopya ng PASG ang trabaho ng BoC dahil tinutulungan lang ng una ang huli upang labanan ang smuggling at maka­kolekta ng buwis. Bukod dito, sa labas ng Customs area o ports kumikilos ang PASG.

“In working with Customs and other government agencies for two (2) years and ten (10) months, PASG has contributed to government coffer billions of pesos in duties and taxes. We have satisfied the purpose of the President when she created PASG,” paglilinaw pa ni Sec. Villar. (Rudy Andal)
