GMA sa private sector: Invest in education!
Inatasan kahapon ni Pangulong Arroyo ang Department of Education (DepEd) na palakasin ang inisyatiba upang hikayatin ang private sector na mag-invest sa sektor ng edukasyon.
“I note with pleasure the advocacy for education of the Aboitiz Group of Companies. I hope other companies will follow suit the example set by Aboitiz to improve the quality of education for our children,” wika ng Pangulo.
Ang Aboitiz Group Foundation Inc. (AGFI) at miyembro ng Aboitiz Group of Companies ay nakapaglagak ng P16.5 milyong halaga ng proyekto sa DepEd noong 2007 at P30 milyon naman ang nailagak ng Cebu-based business conglomerate nitong 2008.
Ayon kay Education Sec. Jesli Lapus, ang suportang ibinibigay ng private sector tulad ng Aboitiz group ay lalong nagpapalakas sa sektor ng edukasyon.
