‘Sorry’ ni Miriam tinanggap ng China

Tnanggap na kahapon ng Chinese Embassy ang “sorry” ni Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago kaugnay sa pahayag ng senadora na “imbentor ng corruption ang mga Intsik” sa hearing ng Senado sa NBN-ZTE contract.

Ipinadala mismo sa tanggapan ni Santiago sa Senate building ang sagot ni Ambassador Song Tao, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of the Philippines, kung saan nakasaad na malugod nilang tinatanggap ang paumanhin nito para sa kanilang bansa at para sa mga buong mamamayan ng Tsina.

“I hope to make joint efforts with you and the people from various circles of the Philippine society for the further enhancement of China-Philippine friendship and mutual cooperation, so as to benefit the two people’s,” sabi pa ni Tao.

Sa sulat ni Santiago kay Song Tao, sinabi nito na nagkaroon lamang ng “misimpression” sa sinabi niya tungkol sa mga Intsik.

Ipinaliwanag din ni Santiago na hindi siya nag-walk out sa Senate hearing noong Miyerkules kundi umalis lang siya matapos ang interpe­lasyon dahil dumaranas siya ng ‘chronic fatigue syndrome’. (Malou Escudero)
