Ang pahayag ay ginawa ng Pangulo sa pagpapasinaya niya ng Global Asiatique Tower I middle class housing project sa Mandaluyog City kahapon ng umaga kasama si Vice President Noli de Castro.
"I would like to annouce that under the leadership of HUDCC Chairman, Vice President Noli de Castro, for the first three months of this year, a fund of P1 billion will be released to fund the relocation and socialized housing projects for the residents living along the North and South Rail projects," anang Pangulo.
Ang P1 bilyon ay panimulang pondo lang na bahagi ng P35 bilyong pump priming activity para sa unang apat na buwan ng 2006.
Samantala, itinalaga ng Pangulo si ret. Sandiganbayan Justice Narciso Nario bilang chairman ng Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) kapalit ni dating PCGG chairman Alvin Dans. Hinirang din si Gaudencio Mendoza bilang Finance Usec. kapalit ni Emmanuel Bonoan na nagbitiw nitong Disyembre 31. (Lilia Tolentino)
