Mula ngayong Disyembre 23, bawal na ang pagbebenta, pagbili at pagproseso ng leaded gasoline.

Sinabi kahapon ni Environment Secretary Antonio Cerilles na ganap nang tatanggalin sa Pilipinas ang leaded gasoline sa Enero 1, 2001 alinsunod sa Clean Air Act of 1999.

Ang lalabag dito ay makukulong nang tatlo hanggang limang taon at pagmumultahin ng P10,000 hanggang P100,000. (Ulat ni Angie dela Cruz)
