DSWD’s State of the Region Address today

CEBU, Philippines - The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 is set to hold its first State of the Region Address (SORA) today, 9:00 am, at its Regional Field Office in Cebu City.

No less than DSWD-7 Regional Director Mercedita Jabagat will do the SORA which is expected to be graced by the different legislators in Central Visayas.

DSWD-7 information officer Kerwin Macopia said that they have invited all the congressmen in Region VII for the event.

Aside from the legislators, they also invited their partner national government agencies, non-government organizations, civil society organizations, and parent leaders of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries.

The SORA will provide the updated status on the region’s implementation of the various programs and services relative to the government’s thrust on social protection and poverty alleviation, Macopia said.

Macopia said that after the SORA, their agency through its regional director will be able to address the different issues and concerns regarding the programs of the DSWD, as well as the future projects of the department. —/GMR (FREEMAN)
