PNP releases P7.62 billion mid-year bonuses

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has released P7.62 billion in mid-year bonuses to its personnel.

PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil announced on Wednesday night that the cash benefits, allocated under the 2024 General Appropriations Act, have been credited to the individual payroll accounts of 228,893 officers and personnel.

Marbil said the bonuses, equivalent to one month’s basic pay, were granted to police officers who served at least four months from July 1, 2023 to May 15.

“This bonus reflects the government’s appreciation for the relentless dedication of our men and women in uniform. It underscores their pivotal role in upholding peace and security nationwide,” he said in a statement.

Marbil lauded the national government under President Marcos for supporting police officers.

“We assure the public that the PNP remains committed to its mandate of serving and protecting the Filipino people, and this bonus will only strengthen our resolve to perform our duties with excellence and integrity,” he said.

Police officers found guilty of administrative or criminal charges are disqualified from receiving the cash incentive.
