Informal workers kinahanglan sab atimanon

Mary Ruth R. Malinao - Banat

CEBU, Philippines — Gihangyo sa Cebu City Council ang Office of the Mayor nga maghimo usa ka polisiya ug programa pagpanalipod dili lang sa mga formal workers kondili apilon sab ang mga informal workers nga naapektahan sab niining pandemiya.

Gihangyo usab sa konseho ang chairman sa Committee on Labor, Employment, Cooperative, and Livelihood nga makig-koordinar sa Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ug Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

"The government must look into the welfare of both formal and informal workers and the formulation of any policy guidance or measures to the future of work, both formal and informal, shall put workers’ rights, needs and aspirations at the heart of economic and social policies and any decision to return to work, the primary considerations must be life and health, the anticipation of risks and harm reduction," ingon ni Dizon.

Matud sa konsehal, makiangayon lang nga lingion sab ang mga informal workerssa siyudad nga wala maapil o wala masakop sa gimandong health and safety protocols sa gobiyerno tungod kay wala man silay kompanyang gitrabahoan.

"Ensuring the safe and healthy return to work of our workers especially under a more relaxed quarantine status is fundamental for decent work and where all policy guidance formulated for the return to work must be anchored," sigun ni Dizon.

Ang Cebu City ubos pa sa modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) tibuok buwan sa Septiyembre. /IBM (BANATNEWS)
