Tungod kay mas barato ug maka-save ang mga senior citizen kun mo-avail sila sa promo kay sa magpa-discount pinasikad sa balaud,  mo-prefer sila sa promotions. Sa ato pa, mas daku ang discount nga mapahimuslan sa mga seniors pinaagi sa promotions. Unsay gilatid sa balaud?

Rule IV sa Implementing Rules and Regulations [IRR] sa RA 9994, Section 2, Article 9, giulohan “No Double Discounts,” atong kutloon: “In the purchase of goods and services which are on promotional discount, the senior citizen can avail of the establishment’s offered discount or the 20 percent discount provided herein, whichever is higher and more favorable.”

Unya, kun sa samang higayon ang senior citizen usa usab ka PWD, giingon dinhi, “in cases where the senior citizen is also a person with disability entitled to a 20 percent discount under his/her valid PWD identification card, the senior citizen shall use either his/her OSCA –issued ID card or PWD ID card to avail of the 20 percent discount.”

Kun pirmahan na sa Presidente, mandatory na unya ang paghatag og health insurance coverage sa tanang senior citizens, indigent o dili. Amendment kini sa provision sa RA 9994 nga ang insurance coverage alang lamang sa mga indigent senior citizens.
