CEBU, Philippines — Cebuano boxers John Paul Gabunilas and Justine Trazo of Chao Sy Stable embark on different missions as they take on Japanese opponents today (Saturday, November 7) at the historic Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Gabunilas will trade punches with Shori Umezu in a non-title bout scheduled for eight rounds.

He is eyeing a breakthrough victory after suffering back-to-back stoppage defeats against Kanamu Sakama and Thanongsak Simsri in his first two fights in Japan.

The 26-year-old Gabunilas holds a 12-4 win-loss record with nine knockouts, while Umezu carries a 13-2-3 slate, also with 9 KOs.

On the other hand, Trazo hopes to make an impression in his first tour of duty on foreign shores.

Standing in his way is newcomer Seijuro Mizoguchi

Trazo totes a perfect 4-0 card, while Mizoguchi is set to make his professional debut.
