Mga polis wa mosanong sa imbitasyon sa CHR-7
CEBU, Philippines — Wala nipatim-aw sa buhatan sa Commission on Human Rights(CHR)-7 ang upat ka police nga gipadad-an og subpoena aron mopatim-aw sa imbestigasyon nga gihimo sa ahensiya subay na sa pagbanhig patay kang kanhi Clarin, Misamis Occidental Mayor David Navarro.
Ang upat ka mga polis nga gi-subpoena sa CHR-7 mao sila si Police Major Eduardo Sanchez, Police Corporal Eutemio Catalan, Police Master Sergeant Carlo Balasoto ug Patrolman Lucidro Javier apan duna sila’y gipadala nga suwat sa CHR-7.
Sigon pa sa chief investigator sa CHR-7 Leo Villarino ilang gidawat ang rason sa upat nga dunay direktiba gikan sa mga labaw sa maong mga polis nga dili sila patambungon o dili pahatagon og mga dokumento bahin sa hitabo diha sa CHR.
Sa ilang suwat, gipahibalo nila ang CHR-7 nga aduna nay gihimong imbestigasyon ang National Bureau of Investigation-7 bahin sa maong hitabo ug dili mahimong ipublikar ang mga dokumento, investigation reports, pagaresto o incident reports.
“The Philippine National Police(PNP) have the discretion not to grant the request to submit documents because there might be sensitive information that might be divulged including the identity of confidential source. There are also details in the documents requested that would undermine the successful conduct of investigations. Furthermore, investigation reports and documents pertaining thereto are confidential matters which requires necessary clearance from the Chief, PNP,” tipik sa suwat nga gipadala sa upat ka police.
Wala na makurat si Villarino sa wala pagsanong sa mga polis apan nanghinaut gyud unta sila sa ilang kooperasyon kay makatabang sa mga polis nga dili sila dudahan sa katawhan.
