Plano treatment facility diha sa Inayawan Landfill gibabagan

CEBU, Philippines - Pipila ka mga nagkadaiyang grupo ang mihangyo sa Cebu City Council aron ibasura ang gisugyot sa Japan International Cooperative Agency (JICA) nga  P12 milyones alang sa treatment facility sa Inayawan Sanitary Landfill.

Ang Freedom from Debt Coalition, Sanlakas Sugbo, EcoWaste Coalition ang KPML mihangyo sa konseho nga dili aprobahan ang maong proposal ug implementar na lamang ang Republic Act 9003 kon "waste prevention and reduction, segregation, recycling and composting."

Ang JICA pinaagi sa AMCON Inc. and Mansei Recycle Systems Co. Ltd. planong mobutang og treatment facility sa Inayawan Sanitary Landfill nga nagkantidad og P12 milyones. 

Matud ni Yasuhiro Yamaguchi, Mansei advisor in Carbon Free Consulting Corporation nga ang among pasilidad makapalambo sa landfill sa nagkadaiyang aspeto.

"Stimulate recycling business, reduce amount of landfill waste through recycling, reduce burden on final landfill site, create jobs for scavengers and it will improve the environment," matud ni Yamaguchi.

Apan ang mga environment group wa mouyon niini gumikan kay matud nila ang Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) gikan sa basura gidili sa Clean Air Act ug Republic Act of 9003.

"The RDF that will be produced from the mixed waste coming from the Inayawan Landfill is most likely contaminated with toxic chemicals because, due to the complexity of mixed municipal waste, it is impossible to successfully separate hazardous and contaminated materials from the recyclable materials,” matud pa sa grupo.

Matud sa maong grupo kinahanglan sa syudad momugna og "real and sustainable rehabilitation plan" para sa landfill.  Gumikan niini, ang city Council mopahigayon og executive session sa Enero 22 aron tukion ang maong reklamo. (BANAT NEWS)
