Manobela implementasyon sa helmet law gisibog

CEBU, Philippines - Daw naibtan og tunok ang mga nanag-iya og motorsiklo ilabi na niadtong wala pa makapalit og helmet nga dunay Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) stickers o ba kaha PS (Philippine Standards) mark nunot sa implementasyon unta sa Helmet Law karong Agosto 1 ning tuiga tungod sa pag-oktaba una sa higpit nga implementasyon niini kutob sa Disyembre 31, 2012.

Ang mga ICC stickers anha lang makuha sa Department of Trade and Industry. Samtang gimandoan usab ang Land Transportation Office nga paspasan pa gyud ang ilang kampanya ug pag-edukar sa mga drayber bahin niini  

"But we will still apprehend those not wearing helmets and those wearing inappropriate and fully depreciated (gubaon) helmets," matud pa ni LTO-7 regional director Raul Aguilos.

Sa samang kamandoan, ang LTO makahimong makapanakop sa mga dili motuman sa Helmet Law karon nang Enero 1, 2013.

"Even with the deferment, CITOM still will not participate in the implementation of the Helmet Law and will only implement our own helmet ordinance since we believed that it is sufficient," matud pang Jakosalem.

Samtang si ANAD Partylist Rep. Pastor "Jun" Alcover miingon nga bisan pa man sa pagsibog sa petsa sa implementasyon ipadayon gihapon nila ang giplanohan nilang protest rally sa Agosto 1.

"We are not against the law. Even if deferred, we will continue our scheduled protest against unfair Implementing Rules and Regulation and oppressive penalties," pasabot pa ni Alcover. 

Base sa kasamtangang balaod, ang pagmaneho og motorsiklo nga walay helmet multahan og P1,500 (first offense), P3,000 (second offense), P5,000 (third offense) ug P10,000 (sa fourth offense ug pagkompiskar sa lisensya).

Ang helmet inspection sa DTI magpadayon gikan sa Lunes ngadto sa Biyernes diha sa mga provincial offices sa DTI, gikan alas-8:00 ngadto alas 12:00 sa udto ug 250 ka tawo lang ang dawaton matag adlaw.

Under the law, motorcycle drivers and their passenger are now strictly required to wear the standard protective gear which the DTI said should bear the ICC or the PS (Philippine Standards) mark. (BANAT NEWS)
