Mga marino sa Vis-Min mag-convention

CEBU, Philippines - Giawhag ang mga seaman ug ilang mga kabanay nga nagpuyo dinhi sa Visayas ug Mindanao sa pagtambong sa duha ka adlaw nga 1st International Seafarers Family Convention (ISFC) and Exhibition nga sugdan ugmang adlawa Agosto 4 hangtud 5 sa Philippine International Convention Center sa Pasay City.

Tuyo sa maong convention nga mapalig-on sa mga pamilyang adunay mga kabanay nga mga marino pinaagi sa paghatag kanila og mga pagtulun-an unsaon nila pagdala ang kamingaw, sumala pa ni Marissa F. Oca, chief organizer sa maong convention.

“Families have many ways of coping with the absence of their seafarer parents or kids,” sumala pa ni Oca.

“And through the years, many issues have cropped up in relation to this. But we should all be aware that not only the family, but also the government, shipowners, employers, NGOs, and many others have a stake in keeping the families of seafarers together,” dugang pa niini.

Ang maong panagtapok adunay temang “The Bonds of Families, the Success of the World,” nga tumong usab sa pag-ila sa dakong natampo sa maritime industry sa ekonomiya sa Pilipinas.

Lakip sa mahinungdanong tukion mao ang Maritime Piracy (A Humanitarian Response Program), HIV/AIDS, ug Coping Styles to Loneliness and Separation ug uban pa.

Motambong usab si Roy Paul ug Dr. Asif Altaf sa ITF Seafarers Trust nga nagbase sa United Kingdom aron maoy motuki sa Maritime Piracy and HIV/AIDS, samtang si Dr. Romel T. Papa, Neuro-Psychiatric Section chief sa National Bureau of Investigation maoy modiskurso sa Coping Styles to Loneliness and Separation.

Lakip sa motambong isip speakers sila si Sen. Pia Cayetano on “Youth and Freedom” ug kanhi Department of Transportation and Communication secretary Arturo Valdez.
