Ex-PNP chief Razon, 32 iba pa kinasuhan ng graft

MANILA, Philippines - Nahaharap sa kasong pangungurakot ang dating hepe ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na si Avelinio Razon at 30 iba pang pulis sa Sandiganbayan.

Inireklamo ng Office of the Ombudsman si Razon at iba pang opisyal ng PNP dahil sa umanoy maanomalyang P400 million repair and maintenance contract ng 28 unit ng V-150 PNP Light Armored Vehicles (LAV) noong 2007.

Isinampa ng Ombudsman ang kasong krimimal matapos ibasura ang mga motion for reconsideration na inihain ni Razon at nga iba pang akusado.

Kinasuhan ng paglabag sa Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act sina Geary Barias, dating Director for Comptrollership; Teodorido Lapuz IV, Acting Director for Logistics Support Services; Emmanuel Ojeda, Reuel Leverne Labrado, Annalee Forro, Henry Duque and Victor Puddao, lahat ng miyembro ng LSS–Bids and Awards Committee; Josefina Dumanew, purchasing officer; Antonio Retrato, chief accountant; Warlito Tubon, inspection officer; Alex Barrameda, property inspector; Eulito Fuentes, supply accountable officer; Rainier Espina, acting chief ng PNP Management Division.

Inireklamo rin sila ng malversation through falsification dahil sa pagbili ng 40 gulong ng LAV.

"The insistence of some of the respondent police officers that they just relied on the reports or actions of their subordinates and were supposedly misled, could not be given credence," sabi ni Carpio-Morales.

Samantala, parehong kaso ang isinampa kina Razon at sa iba pang mga opisyal dahil sa pagpapaayos ng 10 LAV.

Ang iba pang kinasuhan ay sina  Reynaldo Varilla at Charlemagne Alejandrino, kapwa taga National Headquarters-BAC; Lapuz; Ojeda; Labrado; Forro; Edgar Paatan; Puddao; Dumanew; Retrato; Tubon; Laviña, pawang mga responsible supply police non-commissioned officer ng LSS; Barias; Barrameda; Fuentes; Espina; Nancy Basallo, property inspector; at mga pribadong tao na sina Harold at Tyrone Ong, Pamela Pensotes, Evangeline Bais at Artemio Zuniga.

Mayroon pang hiwalay na kaso ang isinampa sa kanila  dahil sa pagpapaayos ng 18 pang LAV.
