3 pang biktima ng 'sex-for-flight' lilitaw

MANILA, Philippines - May tatlo pa umanong biktima ng 'sex-for-fly' scheme ang inaasahan ng migrant workers rights group na lilitaw upang idiin ang mga labor officials sa Gitnang Silangan.

Sinabi ni Migrante vice chairperson John Monterona na dalawang Pilipina ang nasa Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at naghihintay na mapauwi.

"Both decided to leave the Bahay Kalinga (halfway house) in Riyadh after they experienced sexual abuses and ‘indecent proposal’ from a labor official. The two may not be necessarily referring to assistant labor attache Antonio Villafuerte who was tagged by three victims," sabi ni Monterona.

Aniya, ang isa pa umanong biktima ay nasa Kuwait.

"I am also receiving feelers from distressed women OFWs in Amman, Jordan. They would like to reveal about selling of airplane tickets, which are supposed to be given free of charge, by some alleged Philippine labor and welfare officials, and the various incidents that some OFWs ward at the Filipino Workers Resource Center were allowed to go out at night," ani Monterona.

Sinabi pa ni Monterona na karamihan ng mga OFW sa Gitnang Silangan ay nais nang masibak sa puwesto ang mga labor officials.

“Our fellow OFWs in the Middle East would like to see dismissal from public office and conviction of alleged sexual offenders. Above all, we demand drastic reforms to be instituted at various diplomatic posts, make the Bahay Kalinga or FWRC an OFW-friendly and safe refuge, and pro-active on-site services and welfare programs for OFWs," dagdag ni Monterona.

May lima nang lumutang na mga babaeng OFW upang isumbong ang pagsasamantala ng mga labor officials sa Middle East.

Kahapon, sinabi ng Blast Oply Policy Center na may dalawang OFW ang handang magsampa ng reklamo laban sa mga labor and welfare officials sa Middle East.

Nauna nang lumutang ang tatlong babaeng OFW at inireklamo si assistant labor attache Antonio Villafuerte na umano'y sangkot sa "sex-for-flight" scheme.

Pinauwi na ng pamahalaan si Villafuerte sa bansa upang isailalim sa imbestigasyon.
