Paggastos ng Pinoy at gobyernor nagsusulong sa ekonomiya

MANILA, Philippines - Iniangat ng negosyo, consumer spending at patuloy na paggastos ng gobyerno ang ekonomiya kaya pumalo sa 7.8 porsiyento ang gross domestic product (GDP) sa unang tatlong buwan ng taon.

Sinabi ng National Statistical Coordination Board na ang GDP, na ang kabuuan ng goods at service na nai-produce sa bansa, ay ang pinakamataas mula nang maupo sa puwesto si Pangulong Benigno Aquino III.

Ang nakuhang paglago ng Pilipinas ay ang pinakamataas mula sa Southeast Asia kung saan nalampasan pa ang Tsina at Indonesia na may 7.7 at 6 porsiyento, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

"The Q1 growth is the highest so far under the Aquino administration and also the third consecutive quarter of more than 7.0 percent GDP growth," sabi ni NSCB secretary general Jose Albert.

Hinigitan ng ekonomiya ng Pilipinas ang mga target at forecast sa GDP na nakuha.

"The numbers speak for themselves. The numbers exceeded market forecasts, including my own," komento ni Balisacan.

Nakatulong ng malaki sa pag-usbong ang paglago ng mga industriya ng construction at manufacturing gayundin ang consumer spending at government expenditure.

Tinukoy pa ng pinuno ng NCSB ang patuloy na pagpasok ng remittances mula sa mga overseas Filipino workers na siyang nagsulong sa Net Primary Income na umabot ng 3.2 porsiyento.

Dahil dito ay lumago ang Gross National Income (GNI) ng 7.1 porsiyento mula sa 5.7 porsiyento noong 2012.

"All major sectors posted positive growth in seasonally adjusted terms for the first quarter of 2013," sabi ni Albert.

2012 growth figures revised

Nitong Miyerkules ng gabi ay binago rin ng NCSB ang 2012 annual GDP growth figures mula sa 6.6 porsiyento patungong 6.8 porsiyento.

"The revision was brought by the upward revisions in Public Administration and Defense: Compulsory Social Security (PAD), Mining & Quarrying, Other Services, and Construction," pahayag ng ahensya.

Binago rin ang Net Primary Income mula 3.3 patungong 4.8 porsiyento na nagresulta sa pag-angat ng GNI mula 5.8 porsiyento ng 2012 patungong 6.5 porsiyento.

Noong 2011 bumaba ang GDP mula 3.9 na nauwi sa 3.6 porsiyento dahil sa Construction, Other Services and Real Estate, Renting & Business Activities.  

Bumaba rin ang GNI noong 2011 mula 3.2 na dumulas sa 2.8 porsiyento.

Samantala, lumago ang GDP noong huling tatlong buwn ng 2012 mula 6.8 patungong 7.1 porsiyento dahil sa pag-angat ng Construction, Financial Intermediation and PAD.

"Released last January 2013, the preliminary GDP estimates for said quarter were based from limited data available 15 days after the reference period," sabi ni ahensya.
