Traffic Mirror inilunsad ng MMDA

MANILA, Philippines – Binuksan ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority ngayong Lunes ang "MMDA Traffic Mirror," isang website kung saan makikita ng mga motorista ang live na kuha ng video sa daloy ng trapiko.

"With the fast changing technology nowadays, Traffic Mirror is MMDA's latest  offering to every motorist and commuter who wants to plan their trip ahead and avoid the inconvenience brought about  by heavy traffic," pahayag ni MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino.

Maaaring mapuntahan ang MMDA Traffic Mirror sa http://MMDA.NowPlanet.TV para sa 24 oras at libreng kuha ng video sa daloy ng trapiko gamit ang computer o smart phones.

Nakatutok ang siyam na closed-circuit television cameras sa mga pangunahing kalsada sa Metro Manila; Edsa, C-5 road at Commonwealth Avenue.

"With the MMDA Traffic Mirror, motorists can see the actual traffic and flood situations in these three major roads, minus the cost that usually comes with these applications," dagdag ni Tolentino.

Sinabi pa ni Tolentino na magagamit din ang MMDA Traffic Mirror sa pagtutok ng mga baha tuwing panahon ng tag-ulan.

Ang nasabing website ay nabuo sa pakikipagtulungan ng MMDA sa isang public private partnership sa Information Capital Technology Ventures Inc., isang kompanya ng telecommunication at media technology na nakabase sa lungsod ng Makati.

Ayon kay Tolentino, ang pagbuo ng Traffic Mirror ay parte ng kanilang layunin na gamitin ang pinakabagong teknilohiya upang mapabuti ang pagbiyahe ng mga motorista sa Metro Manila

Bago ang MMDA Traffic Mirror, unang inilunsad ng ahensya ang Traffic Navigator, MMDA Twitter at iba pang traffic-related mobile applications.
