Sulu sultan nakipagpulong sa mga obispo

MANILA, Philippines – Nakipagpulong ang Sultanato ng Sulu at North Borneo ngayong Lunes sa mga miyembro ng Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) upang humingi ng tulong sa pagkuha ng suporta ng Vatican sa pag-aayos ng gusot sa Sabah.

Sinabi ni Abraham Idjirani, tagapagsalita ng Sultanato, pumagitna sa usapan si Dante Jimenez, chairman ng the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) sa pag-uusap nina Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma at Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III.
 
Kasamang dumalo ni Kiram ang kanyang anak na si Princess Jacel Kiram, Idjirani at political strategist na si Pastor “Boy” Saycon na political consultant ng sultanato.
 
Idinagdag ni Indjirani na magpapakita ng iba’t ibang papeles si Kiram upang kumbinsihin ang mga Obispo sa kanilang pag-angking sa lupa.
 
Kabilang sa mga papeles ang “grant of letters of administration” sa Session Court ng North Borneo noong 1939 kung saan nakasaad ang awtoridad ng Sultanato ng Sulu at North Bornero sa Sabah; isang liham noong 1999 sa editor ng Daily Zamboanga Times na nakasaad na noong 1939 ay kinumpirma ng mataas na hukuman ng Borneo ang pagmamay-ari ng mga Sulu Sultan Punjungan Kiram sa Sabah; isang liham para kay Sulu Datu Punjungan Kiram mula sa British Legation noong Oktubre 18, 1950 na kinukumpirma ang kahandaang magbayad ng Sultanato ng P1,309.79 bilang cession money.
 
Sinabi rin ni Idjirani na nais bawiin ng Sultanato ang Sbaha hindi lamang para sa mga Muslim bagkus ay para sa mga Kristiyano rin.
 
 â€œWe want to prove to them that the intention of the Sultan is not only for the Muslims. This is not only exclusive for the Muslims but also inclusive of our Christian brothers and sisters, including the indigenous peoples,” sabi ng tapagsalita. “Sabah is not for sale but is the patrimony of the Filipino people,” dagdag Idjirani.
 
Kumpiyansa ang sultanato ng Sulu na susuportahan sila ng CBCP at Vatican sa kanilang paghahabaol sa Sabah.
 
“It is the intention of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III to talk with the CBCP. We cannot deny the influence of the CBCP. This Sabah issue concerns geopolitics. We need the support of the Vatican here,” sabi ni Idjirani.
 
“So hopefully the president of the CBCP will invite the attention of the Vatican to also do something about it because the Vatican advocates peace, prosperity and respect for human rights. Especially now that we have a new Pope,” dagdag niya.
 
Sinabi pa ni Idjirani na magiging interisado rin ang Vatican sa isyo dahil 25 porsyento ng mga tao sa Sabah ay mga Kristiyano.
 
 â€œWe cannot deny that about 25 percent of the population in Sabah is Christian. The Sultan wants to assure the CBCP and the Holy See that in case Sabah is returned to the Sultanate of Sulu, all religions will be respected according to the teachings of Islam,” ani ng tagapagsalita.
 
“Islam says not to belittle any religion. Allah says to do that would be an immortal sin,” pahabol ni Idjirani.
