21 Pinoy peacekeepers dinukot sa Golan Heights

MANILA, Philippines – Kinumpirma ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ngayong Huwebes na may 21 Pilipinong peacekeepers ang dinukot ng armadong grupo sa Golan Heights.

Iginiit naman ng kawanihan na patuloy ang negosasyon upang mapalaya ang mga Pilipinong bihag na nailulat na ligtas naman.

"All Filipino peacekeepers are reported to be unharmed and that negotiations are underway to secure their safe release. The Government is likewise coordinating closely with the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations on the matter," pahayag ng DFA.

Sinabi ng DFA na ang inaalala ng gobyerno sa ngayon ay ang kaligtasan ng mga bihag.

“The main concern of the Philippine Government at this time is to ensure the safety and well-being of our peacekeepers. We wish to reiterate that UNDOF’s freedom of movement and safety and security must be respected by all parties in the area,” sabi ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. del Rosario.

Ipinadala ang 21 peacekeepers sa United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) sa Golan Heights kung saan tumataas ang tensyon sa pagitan ng Israel at Syria.
