Santiago kumpiyansa kay Basilio

 MANILA, Philippines – Kumpiyansa si Senador Miriam Defensor-Santiago sa bagong talagang embahador ng bansa sa Tsina na si Foreign Undersecretary Erlinda Basilio.

“She will have high chances. Number one, she has a long record of actual experience because she is a hands-on secretary; and number two, I believe she has the full faith and confidence of her secretary, that is very important for a sensitive post like China,” sabi ni Santiago.

Sinabi pa ni Santiago na kilala ni Basilio ang bawat miyembro ng Commission on Appointment sa Senado dahil lagi siyang dumadalo sa mga pagdinig sa mataas na kapulungan bilang kinatawan ng Department of Foreign Affairs.

“She is an excellent choice and even level-headed," dagdag ng senadora. “She will do well, help calm the roiling waters in the West Philippine Sea."
