Guro, nars pinakamarami sa bansa

MANILA, Philippines – Umabot sa 3.2 milyon ang mga propesyonal sa bansa, ayon sa Deparment of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ngayong Lunes.

Sa datos ng Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), sinabi ni Labor chief Rosalinda Baldoz na ang mga propesyonal sa 50 rehistradong propesyon ay ang pinakamahalaga sa pag-unlad ng bansa.

Sa mga rehistradong propesyonal, ang mga guro ang pinakamalaki na aabot sa 1.142 milyon, kasunod ang mga nars na may 756,624 at 145,209 na mga accountant.

Samantala, ang pinakamaliit na grupo ay ang ocular pharmacologists sa 51, gayun din ang geologic aides pati ang air conditions and refrigerators specialists, 66 at 65, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Nagsagawa ang PRC at Philippine Association of Professional Regulatory Board Members Inc. (PAPRB) ng First Professional Summit of the Philippines noong Oktubre na may temang, “Convergence of Professionals for Nation Building and Global Competitiveness” kung saan lampas 500 kinatawan ng bawat sector sa bansa ang dumalo.

“The First Professional Summit highlighted the continuing growth and relevant role of the Filipino professionals in nation-building and economic competitiveness”, sabi ni Baldoz.

“The Summit is consistent with the overarching goal enunciated by President Benigno S. Aquino III, in his 22-point labor and employment agenda, to 'invest in our country’s top resource, our human resource, to make us more competitive and employable while promoting industrial peace based on social justice'," dagdag niya.

Idineklara ni Aquino ang pag-obserba sa Philippine Professionals Competitiveness Week noong Oktubre sa pamamagitan ng Proclamation No. 487 na ipinalabas noong Oktubre 2, 2012.
