MANILA, Philippines - A marine biology graduate with no formal training in fashion represented the Philippine's in Italy's Vogue Super Talents exhibition which featured collections from Austria, Israel, Philippines, Thailand and Ukraine.
Ken Samudio used recycled materials to create fashion pieces which foreign buyers admired for its uniqueness and creativity.
The designer made plastic beads out of recycled water bottles while using old furniture linings as base for his pieces.
Samudio's spring/summer 2015 collection was featured in the 50th anniversary September issue of Vogue Italia magazine and he is looking forward to introducing more of his creations to the Italian fashion market, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.
