Hundreds protest violence against women in Nepal

KATMANDU, Nepal (AP) — Hundreds of protesters have gathered outside the prime minister's residence in Nepal for a 10th day to oppose violence against women in Nepal.

The protesters, calling their campaign "Occupy Baluwatar," chanted slogans Sunday demanding the government punish those involved in crimes against women and that authorities do more to protect women in the Himalayan nation. Baluwatar is the Katmandu neighborhood where the prime minister's official residence is.

The protesters included business executives, students, housewives and rights workers. A thick line of riot police kept them away from prime minister's residence.
