MANILA, Philippines — A man identified only as Mr. Liu has wrecked his $4.1-million Swedish supercar in a drunken incident.

Local Chinese media are referring to the incident as the most expensive car crash in China's history.

According to reports, the driver was riding his Koenigsegg Agera R around midnight in Yubei District of Chongqing when it suddenly smashed into a sidewalk barrier, hitting its bumper and rear wheels.

Liu stayed inside the car for two hours before he was rescued.

The accident has caught the attention of the public because of  the car's jaw-dropping worth.  What made the situation even worse for Liu is that the car has no license plate, indicating that the he may not have insurance.

According to People's Daily Online, Liu is now detained for "driving under the influence of alcohol." Meanwhile, the car is currently in a Chongqing garage waiting to be fixed or shipped to Sweden for repair. — Alixandra Caole Vila
