Dumaguete LGU turns over radio handsets to city PNP

CEBU, Philippines - The city government of Dumaguete, headed by Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria, on Wednesday handed over ten radio handsets to the City Police, through Superintendent Jovito Atanacio, chief of thPhilippine National Police (PNP) in the city.

Sagarbarria, in turnover ceremonies at his office, told Atanacio the city government would continue to provide assistance in any form to the City Police for improved efficiency in maintaining peace and order.

The city is now set also to procure two more vehicles for crime-fighting efforts of the City Police, he said. Earlier he let his pick-up, assigned to him by the local government, to be detailed to the City Police instead.

Atanacio, for his part, thanked the mayor and the city government for the continuing support, saying the radio handsets will further boost the police’s communications capabilities and the vehicles to improve mobility and patrols. (FREEMAN)
