ISABEL, LEYTE, Philippines — Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico Petilla has distributed 14 checks, amounting to P2 million, to the local government of this town and its barangays for the construction and repair of infrastructures damaged by Yolanda last year.
Petilla said a P700,000 check was given to Mayor Gregorio Cerillo for the construction of the duplex building for the municipal office.
The governor told reporters that 13 more checks, amounting to P1.305 million, were given each to the town’s barangays needing financial assistance for their respective projects, such as rehabilitation of water system, barangay hall, covered court, day care center, health center, streetlights; and road concreting, among others.
The beneficiary barangays are Talingan, Puting Bato, Matlang, Bilwang, Sto. Rosario, Binog, Monte Alegre, Apare, Libertad, Consolacion, Sta. Cruz, Mahayag and San Francisco. (FREEMAN)
