Napolcom probes 3 cops “involved” in drugs deal

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The National Police Commission (Napolcom)-Region 6 is now investigating three policemen of the Bacolod City Police Office-Special Operations Group after they allegedly received bribe money from illegal drugs financiers in this city.

Napolcom-6 regional chief investigation unit head Inspector Napoleon Arostique of Napolcom-6, along with lawyer Jorelyne Gasataya and Insp. Felix Leo Loriega, was in this city to validate the reports linking several policemen to illegal drug trade here.

Arostique, citing the letter-complaint that was sent to Napolcom-6 with a copy furnished to the Office of the President, said the complainant alleged that several policemen served as protectors of the illegal drugs activities.

Based on their initial investigation, Arostique confirmed that all the transactions involving the reported policemen were valid, as he cited the receipts from the money remittance, amounting to P80,000 in bribe money.

Senior Superintendent  Larry Decena, BCPO officer-in-charge, revealed that two of the three policemen, who reportedly served as drug protectors, were relieved from their posts, pending investigation on the case while the other policeman went on AWOL for more than a week already.
