DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — The Provincial Board of Negros Oriental threw their support to Gov. Roel Degamo after learning of at least four fund allocations that the national government had withdrawn for unclear reasons.
Degamo told the PB about the withdrawn allocations: the P481-million disaster relief funds earlier promised by President Benigno Aquino III through the DPWH; the P100 million for the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital through the DOH; the P16 million for the hospital in Guihulngan City; and infrastructure projects through the Department of Agriculture plus two more tractors, as counterpart from the national government.
The PB members, led by Vice Gov. Mark Macias, in support to the governor, asked for copies of all documents pertaining to the withdrawn allocations, saying they will come up with a resolution requesting the national government for clarification for the funds pull-out. — (FREEMAN)
