ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Seven members of the Iloilo City Police Office's Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) team were charged administratively and criminally by the management of Aksyon Radyo-Iloilo at the Office of the Ombusdman-Visayas along Gen. Luna St. here Wednesday morning.
The management, through its lawyer Eldrid Antiquera, has charged PO1s Michael Binobo, Ravelo Acosta, Christopher Castañeda, Rene Diane, Melvin Deypalubos, El Abastillas and Johven Mark Causing for grave coercion, grave threats, violation of domicile, violence against women and anti-graft and corrupt practices acts.
The charges came after the SWAT team raided the station and harassed seven personnel of the radio station right after a group of armed men reportedly entered the station.
Prior to the filing of case, Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz, director of Police Regional Office-6, has ordered Chief Supt. Manuel Felix, PRO-6 deputy director for administration, to lead the investigation of the incident. — (FREEMAN)
