SIBULAN, NEGROS ORIENTAL, Philippines — The bodies of a real estate broker and her husband were found inside their residence at Locsin Village in Barangay Boloc-boloc of this town late Sunday night, already in a state of decomposition.
The couple, later identified as Mariana Sienes, 64, and Enrico Sienes, 63, died from stab wounds and were "possibly hammered to death by unknown assailants," said PO3 Alexander Lado, chief investigator of the case.
The police said the victims were also robbed of an estimated P50,000 worth of valuables, such as a cellphone, a gold necklace and a motorcycle.
Mariana was found near the sala, while Enrico was found in the kitchen. They were first discovered by their niece and nephew who earlier decided to check on their house when no one of them answered their son's calls for three days.
The niece told the police the couple's son Elmer, an OFW in Bahrain, contacted her to check why his parents could not be reached since last Friday. Another son Edwin is also an OFW. An autopsy will be conducted, as soon as the sons arrive home, said the police.
Newly-elected Mayor Emmanuel Diputado ordered the police force to exert all efforts to give justice to the family of the victims. (FREEMAN)
