TAGBILARAN CITY, Philippines — Three still unidentified men on Thursday pulled off a daring daytime robbery, at Brgy. Booy in this city, and fled with P49,000 cash, which was the proceeds of a delivered stock of dressed chicken.
The victims, on board the blue Canter truck (plate no. RKY 419), were identified as sales agent Florencio Hangad Ablao and his companion Rene Lluvido, 41, both workers of Marcela Farms, and their customer, 46-year-old Eric Lague, a resident of the barangay, police report bared.
The robbery was confirmed by Barangay Chairman Eutergio Telmo who said, in a separate interview yesterday, that the robbers could have been following the daily delivery of dressed chicken to Lague.
Police blotter stated that three motorcycle-riding men came to the truck and, at gun point, declared a holdup to the surprise of the victims who were at the time unloading cargo of dressed chicken to Lague's residence.
One of the robbers fired a shot to the air, while his companions rushed inside the house and grabbed the money, which the agent and the customer was counting at the time.
The robbers immediately rode on a waiting XRM motorcycle, driven by a third man, and they sped off toward Brgy. Manga, said the police.
City Police chief Romeo Perigo said one of the suspects was initially identified, but he gave no more details. (FREEMAN)
