Roble backs Youth For Peace

HILONGOS, LEYTE , Philippines — A total of 73 youths attended the one-day forum on Hilongos Youth for Peace program, which is aimed at building the young generation for active participation in nation-building.

Mayor Jose Emery “Joy” Roble, who declared his support to the program, told the participants the importance of building up a good foundation in life by sharing their talents and helping the community.

Hilongos LGU’s population program worker Edmund Vilbar, who conducted the forum, said the youths must mould their talents, develop their skills and abilities, and enhance their creativity and optimism because they are vital to the country’s future, freedom and democracy.

Also discussed in the event was the Mayor Joy E-to-E (Education to Employment) program, which focuses on educating the youths and providing them with employment later on.

The LGU, which has its TESDA-CNVS Off-Campus project, meanwhile has helped a lot to the people of Hilongos and nearby towns. 

A total of 211 students have completed different courses, passed the assessment and received their certificates. There were also 32 students who availed themselves of the LGU’s scholarship program. — (FREEMAN)
