LP claims bigger crowd in rally than UNA’s

BAYBAY CITY, Philippines  â€” The Liberal Party candidates in this city, led by reelectionist Mayor Carmen Cari, have claimed to have a bigger crowd in last Sunday’s proclamation rally compared to the one, simulatneously staged by the United Nationalist Alliance bets, led by mayoralty aspirant Marilou “Malot” Galenzoga.

Similar to that of Team Malot, the LP bets also had a motorcade that started at the City Gym to barangays Villa, Gaas, Plaridel, Malibog and Caridad where the Team Cari conducted its proclamation rally.

The LP camp also claimed that, of the 91 barangay captains, all of them attended the activity to show their full support for Cari and her slate.

Those who also joined the LP motorcade were Leyte gubernatorial candidate Dominico Petilla, his runningmate Vice Governor Carlo Loreto, Rep. Jose Carlos “Boying” Cari (5th district, Leyte), and vice mayoralty bet Mike Cari.

While the UNA motorcade carried the blue flags and balloons, the LP had its light green streamers and balloons.

Right after the motorcades of the two camps, comments immediately flooded the internet, one of which stated that these were not a show of the number of supporters each had, but on how loyal these people were to their respective political party.

LP carried the battlecry of “Kalambuan (Progress)” while UNA supporters chanted “Kausaban (Change)”.  (FREEMAN)
