BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Joseph Rigodon officially assumed his post as new head of the National Bureau of Investigation in this city in a formal turnover ceremony at its office Tuesday.
Rigodon, a certified public accountant, was previously assigned as executive officer of the NBI—Calabarzon Region, and had been executive officer under outgoing NBI-Bacolod head Ferdinand Lavin.
Rigodon said he “will continue the good works†of Lavin, and among his priorities will be to streamline the clearance processing at NBI, whose machines can only process at most 300 clearances a day.
He said he is not yet privy to the sensational cases handled by Lavin such as the murder of Judge Henry Arles in April 2011, and the murder of hotelier Johnny Chua in October 2012. (FREEMAN)
