The bandwagon mentality still remains with most, if not all, Pinoy voters. This could be the reason why Sen. Grace Poe is leading in the presidential race.
* * *
The bandwagon not long ago went for VP Jojo Binay. When Grace Poe sprung from nowhere and attracted the survey voters to her side, the bandwagon shifted to her side.
* * *
Even PNoy got swayed and joined the Poe bandwagon, leaving Sec. Mar Roxas, the supposed LP standard bearer, aside.

Now let me ask the same question asked by Antolin "Iyo Antoy" de la Serna in his Banat News column (July 21/15): "Kun mag-una ka sa survey ikaw na ang most qualified pagka-presidente?"
* * *
Until now (July 21) Grace Poe and Chiz Escudero have not yet made it known whether or not they're in the race for president and/or vice president. They're testing the waters too long. Ignoring the bandwagon mentality of the survey responders?

A retired pre-martial law Manila publisher talked to me on the phone recently. Among other things we talked about the coming elections especially the presidential race. He said he believed in political surveys but not in their effect.
* * *
He was referring to the voters bandwagon mentality which I wrote about earlier. He said many knowledgeable political observers don't agree with the survey ratings carried by the papers. "They believe more in their grapevine ratings, he said.
* * *
Asked who's leading in his own grapevine rating, my guest said: "Tatawagan lang kita ulit." Until this writing he has not called me "ulit."

It looks like PNoy is trying to be very careful in his choice of the man or woman who would replace him. He's not sold on Mar Roxas because Mar is not rating well in the surveys. Matud pa sa akong lola: Siging pili, siging pili nahipunta na hinuon sa bati nga pinili."
