Inequality of power

All of us want power. I mean who doesn't want it, right?! Power comes in many forms like the power of love, the power of faith and etc. but I'll focus on the power of being a leader. Let me start with this quote from the movie Spider-Man: “with great power comes with great responsibility”. Being a leader gives you all the responsibilities that you can ever imagine and especially it gives you the power to rule your people. But what I can see today in our country is the contrary. When the pork barrel scam issue broke out I never expected that most of our leaders or politicians are involved in this controversy. I never expected that they were the leaders of being corrupt. Instead of leading us to the right way they are the ones who are putting hindrance to our future. Blaming them wouldn't help, justice would do. Oh, wait! Justice?! Well, justice for them is only for rich people because they have the power to manipulate the people that are surrounding them.

As you can see today many corrupt politicians can easily run away from crimes they committed. Some even run again for a position, let me give you an example, former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo had a case of plunder but had the guts to run as a congresswoman in Pampanga and won the election. Former president Joseph Ejercito Estrada had a case of perjury and plunder but he also had the guts to run as a Mayor in Manila and won the election. So now tell me where is this justice that we've been talking about? How can we even give justice to our own families, friends and country if justice is the power of money?

Just because they have the power doesn't mean they can already control us. It causes the discrimination of the poor and the praising of the rich by the society. Society in our country today gives only appreciation if you're rich, they respect you if you're rich, and follow you only if you are one of the wealthy people, and you can even buy people if you're rich. As you can see now in our society today, the poor becomes poorer and the rich becomes richer, this is so because of the inequality that power gives us. No matter how hard, I think it is only the rich people of today who are being looked up to.

We have the right to make a stand.

How can we solve the problems in our country if our leaders are the ones who are making the problem? Well, I know it's not all their fault, we citizens also cause the problems in our society. It is like a chain reaction if the leaders are corrupt or idiotic it will make a chain reaction and will be passed to the citizens. How can we solve our problem in the society if we are the problem? It's just simple if you are the problem, be the solution. The power in our country really shapes our society. If we want to make a difference we should be the difference. This is not only about ourselves but we are also fighting for the life of our country, Philippines.
