Who do the people in Congress think they are? Officials of a rich developed country?
At the rate they have been pampering themselves with fat bonuses, huge committee budget on top of their huge pork barrel and other perks, Congress no longer should be allowed to continue at all! They are draining our country's coffers for their own purposes!
Who are they representing? Who are they serving?
And whose funds do they use for their salaries, fat bonuses, pork barrel, and perks? Theirs? Of course not! OURS!!!
How dare they spend the money for themselves! How dare they insult the needy Filipinos by giving to themselves what is not theirs and what they do not at all deserve!
If there are still those among you who do not understand the public rage against Congress now, best you join the crusade to abolish an abusive Congress so that our people can claim their public funds back from undeserving pork-barrel loving abusers who call themselves honorable!
While millions of Filipinos wallow in hunger and in poverty, while typhoon and other disaster victims continue to bear homelessness and hopelessness, while laborers struggle to get some few peso-salary hike, according to recent news reports, senators received millions of pesos last year and P500,000 each for House Representatives in December, these huge amounts over and above their fat pork barrel allowances!
Grabe, no shame, no remorse, no guilt at all!
Senator Santiago alleged “that each senator has been receiving P2.2 million every month which a senator can play around with - whether to use to hire staff, or for office rental and supplies, or a senator can decide to keep the P 2.2 million or any residual amount for himself!â€
Santiago was further quoted that for every annual P200 million pork barrel of a senator, the annual kickback is usually P20 million, for a total kickback in six years of P120 million and for a representative with annual pork barrel of P70 million, the usual annual kickback of P7 million, or a total kickback every three years of P21 million!
While Congress enjoys millions of public funds, millions of Filipinos continue to suffer in poverty.
This practice in Congress should be immediately, promptly, urgently investigated and Congress closed for abuse of public funds! This should be accompanied by the demand for those in Congress to return the money of the Filipino people!
TAMA NA, SOBRA NA, NO TO CONGRESS TOO!
For what has Congress done for our people in return for abusing public funds?
Oh, many will point to their pet projects, mostly infrastructure. However, how many of their projects have truly lifted our people from poverty? Have the number of poor Filipinos decreased as the public funds allocated for Congress ballooned?
What can millions of Filipinos do to stop Congress from abusing our precious public funds? What can Filipinos do to abolish Congress? Shall we all pray that the 9 million devotees of the Black Nazarene stampede into the halls of Congress and take over? Or shall we all pray that more millions of the Sto.Niño worshippers do a people power demanding Congress to close?
Seriously, what do you think can each of us , personally and collectively, do to stop Congress from further abusing our people and our people's trust and public funds?
