Cebuano topnotcher lauded

CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City government commended a Cebuano graduate who topped the licensure examinations for doctors.

In a resolution, city officials recognized Venil Lovely Estella Bolambao who graduated from the Southwestern University Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine.

Bolambao topped the list of 594 successful examinees of the Professional Regulation Commission’s Physician Licensure Examinations with a rating of 88.33 percent.

"Dr. Venil Lovely Estella Bolambao deserves a meritorious recognition for making the City of Talisay on top and known to the whole country," said city councilor Richard Francis Aznar in his resolution.

The resolution was also signed by council presiding officer and vice mayor Romeo Villarante and was approved by Mayor Johnny De los Reyes.

"Dr. Venil Lovely Estella Bolambao deserves to be recognized not just for having topnotched the said examinations but, more importantly, for being a paradigm to the young individuals to do better in their educational endeavors. Thus, she is now one of the reigning inspirations of the many students towards the fulfillment of their dreams," the resolution read.

Aside from Bolambao, two more Cebuanos made it to the top 10 spots. They were Mark Lalay Ando and Rodrigo Go Monleon Jr. from Cebu Doctors’ University.

Ando ranked third with an average of 86.83 percent while Monleon placed 8th with 85.75 percent.

A total of  832 examinees took the examinations this month in the cities of Cebu and Manila. (FREEMAN)
