CEBU, Philippines – Two unidentified assailants onboard a motorcycle shot a man dead yesterday morning while he was standing near the entrance gate of Vista Bella Subdivision in Sitio Kagudoy, Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
Ryan Amores, 39, sustained gunshot wounds in the head that resulted to his instant death, according to Senior Police Officer 2 Manolito Abellanosa of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Homicide Section.
Police investigation revealed that before the shooting happened, Amores was standing near the subdivision's gate. Moments later, the two suspects arrived and positioned few meters away from the victim.
One of the unidentified suspects reportedly got off the motorcycle and went near the victim. He then allegedly pulled out his gun and shot Amores.
He then went back to the motorcycle and his companion driver sped off heading to General Aviations Airport Road in Barangay Basak.
Senior Police Officer 2 Abellanosa said the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation responded to the victim's situation and tried reviving him but Amores was already "unresponsive."
An empty shell from a .45 caliber firearm was recovered from the crime scene.
The cadaver of the victim was brought to Surelife Funeral Homes for autopsy.
As of now, the police are still conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the suspects and the motive to the crime.
