CEBU, Philippines - A 25-year-old man was rushed to a hospital after a trisikad driver stabbed him after a fistfight that stemmed over trisikad fare past 10 p.m. on Thursday in Sitio Nava Alaska, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.
Joel Lim, 35, was brought to Cebu City Medical Center after a certain "Jerome" stabbed him once in his back.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim saw his wife and the suspect arguing with each other.
The suspect was hired by the victim's wife to carry her but they could not agree on the fare.
The suspect and the victim then figured in a heated argument and had a fistfight. However, the suspect took an icepick and stabbed the victim once hitting his back and then fled away.
Police conducted a follow-up operation but the suspect was nowhere to be found.
The victim is said to be in a safe condition after being treated in the hospital. — Bryner L. Diaz (FREEMAN)
