CEBU, Philippines - A 39-year-old drunk man was arrested by the barangay tanods of Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City Tuesday evening after he hacked his neighbor with a16-inch bolo.
Jordan Conchita, a resident of Sitio Ylaya, was arrested by the tanods and turned over to the police after he attacked his neighbor Ruel Intong with the bolo when he went berserk getting himself drunk.
Police investigation revealed that Conchita was brandishing his bolo ang was challenging his neighbors to a fight.
His neighbors ran for their own safety but Intong during that time did not run and just stared at the suspect which prompted the latter to get irked and attack the victim.
The victim who was supposed to parry the bolo was hit in both his arms and left side of his body but he was still able to run away from the suspect.
The victim was immediately brought to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital but was later transferred to Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.
The suspect is now detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office holding cell pending the filing of an attempted homicide case against Conchita. — (FREEMAN)
