CEBU, Philippines - Neighbors found a dead woman inside her room Saturday morning in Sitio Kayomitohan, Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City. The woman was identified as Fe Jimena, 59, a retired employee of Cignal Digital Cable Company and owns a store in the same barangay.
Police Officer Joseph Ruel Cutanda of Lapu-Lapu City Police - Homicide Section said a certain neighbor of the victim named Evangeline Moron reported that she saw Jimena last June 13 at around 3 p.m.
Moron added that the victim approached her and confided that she was not feeling well. The next day, the neighbors in the barangay wondered why Jimena did not attend to her store the whole day.
Curious, they peeked through the small opening of her room and found out Jimena lying on the floor motionless which prompted them to immediately call for help. Cutanda added based on their initial investigation, traces of discharged fluids appeared on the Jimena's mouth and nose.
Police said there was no apparent foul play involved nor was there any sign of forced entry into Jimena's house. The victim's laptop and cellphone were still intact and beside her. (FREEMAN)
