CEBU, Philippines - A 34-year-old police asset landed in hospital after he was shot by unidentified men riding a motorcycle around 7 p.m. Sunday evening in Sitio Sun-ok, Barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City.
Elvis Gomez, a resident of the place, was brought first to the Mandaue City Hospital and was later transferred to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center after he sustained a gunshot wound on his upper leg courtesy of an undetermined caliber of firearm.
Police investigation revealed that moments prior to the incident, while the victim was talking with a neighbor at a bench beside the road, a motorcycle slowed down in front of them and shot Gomez four times.
Gomez was able to run away only hit in the leg, while his neighbor also scampered and ran for safety.
The two helmet-wearing men on board a pink motorcycle with no plate number hurriedly left the place.
Police believed revenge from illegal drug personalities could have been the motive of the crime. (FREEMAN)
