CEBU, Philippines - Two people were arrested for trying to buy using fake P500 bill in Barangay T. Padilla, Cebu City yesterday morning.
This happened two weeks after the same incident took place in Panganiban Street, same city.
Moril Reliente, 33, was arrested after he allegedly used a fake P500 bill when he bought a tray of eggs at the market.
Reliente said while he was tending to his fighting cock, Joel Bijante, 42, came to his house and told him to buy eggs and put the money straight into the pocket of his short pants.
Reliente said not knowing that the money was counterfeit, he proceeded to a sari-sari store inside T. Padilla Public Market.
He said he ordered one tray of eggs but the store owner told him to wait. Minutes later, the store owner did not give him the eggs still so he went to see Bijante and told him what happened.
He said both of them went to the store but they were immediately arrested by police officers.
In a separate interview, Bijante said he had nothing to do with the allegations and declined to talk further.
Two weeks before Reliente's and Bijante's arrest, another person was arrested by Carbon Police for using a fake P1,000 bill. (FREEMAN)
